Configure Sharing Options

1. Open Control Panel and go to Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click Change advanced sharing settings.
3. Turn on Network discovery and File and printer sharing.
4. Turn on Password protected sharing, then save the changes.

Share a Folder

1. Right-click the folder and select Properties.
2. Open the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing.
3. Turn on Share this folder, then configure the share name and permissions.

4. On the Security tab, click Edit and grant the required permissions. Choose Full Control if FE File Explorer should be able to edit and delete files.

Find Your Username and Password

Open Control Panel > User Accounts. Use this account name when connecting, and create a password if the account does not have one.

Find Your Computer Name

1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click Computer and select Properties.
3. Find the computer name. Use it in FE File Explorer’s Computer Name/IP field.

Find Your IP Address

1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Run ipconfig.
3. Find the IPv4 address for the network connection you are using.

Troubleshooting

If the connection times out, confirm that your iPhone or iPad and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network, and allow File and Printer Sharing through Windows Firewall.

If Windows file sharing still does not work, install Redfish on the computer and connect to its IP address on port 20445.
